Located outside of Port au Prince, this orphanage took in an additional 70 children whose orphanage was destroyed in the earthquake. Maison Fortune' was in immediate need of donations in order to "annex" a vacant property next door to it current location and to refurbish the neglected building on that site. Children live, go to school and receive medical attention at Maison Fortune. These committees recommended discontinuing the phonemail feature of residential phone service. These recommendations were based on declining usage, the cost of providing the phonemail service to every resident and the availability of more current technologies (including voicemail features on most cellular phone plans and Google Voice). Effective August 22nd the voicemail feature on student room phones will be discontinued.
