The Department of Campus Recreation coordinates many programs for the University community, including Intramural Sports, Wellness Programs, Sport Clubs, informal Open Recreation, Special Events, and Equipment Rental. Our primary goal is to enhance the quality of campus life for students, faculty, and staff by providing a diverse range of programs and facilities to meet your recreational needs. The University community is encouraged to take advantage of the many recreational programs and fitness facilities on campus. We have something for everyone!

Mountain Biking Trip

1.5-2 hours of Mountain Biking in Hither Hills then off to the Montauk Lighthouse for lunch and adventure! Tickets on sale Friday, March 19 at the SAC Ticket Office. Tickets $25 additional refundable $20 deposit with limited space. Ticket includes transportation, bike rental/tour, and lunch at the lighthouse. For more details, call 631-632-7263.

Wellness Center 3 Day Free Pass
All Faculty & Staff can now experience the Wellness Center for FREE with our limited availability 3 Day Free Pass. Faculty & Staff can sign up for a FREE pass by visiting the Wellness Office in the Student Activities Center, Room 225. The pass is good for any 3 Days during the spring semester. All you will need in order to sign up is your Stony Brook University ID card. 2010 Spin Challenge - Monday, April 19, 2010. Student Activities Center Spin Studio (located in the SAC basement next to the bank). Riders will be led on an exciting 90 minute journey that will challenge the mind and body. Water bottles and towels are mandatory. Most appropriate for the intermediate and advanced Spinning enthusiasts. Check-in begins at 5:50pm in the Spinning Studio . First come, first serve. free for all, Stony Brook ID required.

Wellness Workshop - Healthy Eating = Healthy You - Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Student Activities Center room 308 from 1:00-2:00pm. A free interactive workshop for the campus community. Learn about how to get a handle on your nutrition with the basics. Also find out how to eat healthy on campus! Stony Brook University Breaks Ground On Campus Recreation Center
Inclement weather could not put a damper on the celebratory event that was the official ground breaking ceremony for the new Campus Recreation Center (CRC) at Stony Brook University on June 5. The $37.5 million 85,000 square-foot CRC is a student-oriented facility featuring contemporary work out space, space for a quality intramural program and for sports club team practice and competition.
