Requirements of the RA/GRA Position

As a member of the Residential Programs, Resident Assistants and Graduate Resident Assistants are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with the goals, objectives and ideals of the department. Listed below are the general requirements necessary to qualify for the positions.

  • Resident Assistants (Undergraduate Residence Halls)
    • Must maintain a minimum semester and cumulative GPA of 2.5
    • Be enrolled for at least 12 credits each semester of employment
    • Be in good judicial standing with the University
  • Resident Assistants (West Apartments)
    • Must maintain a minimum semester and cumulative GPA of 3.0
    • Be enrolled for at least 12 credits each semester of employment
    • Be in good judicial standing with the University
  • Graduate Resident Assistants (Chapin, Schomburg and the graduate area of West Apartments)
    • Must maintain a semester and cumulative GPA of 3.0
    • Be enrolled for at least 9 credits each semester of employment
    • Be in good judicial standing with the Universi

All RA/GRA positions are for one contract cycle.  Terms and conditions of the position as well as specific contract periods will be clearly outlined in the Statement of Understanding issued on the candidate hire date.  Please find the basic contract months listed below.
