Student
Ambassadors 2006-2007
A message from the Dean
It
has been with great pleasure that I have the good fortune to be
associated with the Student Ambassador Program, since becoming Dean of
Students last September. This extraordinary group of students, who have
been chosen in a most competitive forum, must uphold rigorous
standards, both academically and in service to their community.
Competition
can be intense to enter the Student Ambassador Program,
but so too has been the desire to use the services
of these trained and polished young scholars. Ambassadors
are frequently called upon to support and help "host"
major campus functions including the University's Open
House, Gala Campus Celebrations, Homecoming Activities,
Fund-Raising Events, New Student Orientation and many
other distinguished programs. These students are among
the crème
de la crème of our student body and serve, literally,
as the University's Ambassadors, or official goodwill
envoys.
I
am proud that the Dean of Students' Office serves as the co-sponsor for
this outstanding group of individuals. I wish them continued success
and thank each and every Ambassador for all that they do for
Stony Brook University.
Sincerely,
Jerrold L.
